Capabilities

Everything you need to ship from your desktop

Forge Desktop pairs a native shell with the same AI and billing backbone as forge.alphasynthai.com.

  • AI-native builder
Generate and refine UI, logic, and copy with an agent that understands your whole project.
  • Guided builder
Templates and wizards walk you from idea to runnable prototype without blank-page paralysis.
  • Live preview
Hot reload and device frames so you see changes the moment they land.
  • Git & releases
Track versions locally, push to GitHub, and align with release tags from the website.
  • Builder workflow
Files, assets, and routes in one tree — optimized for iterative AI edits.
  • Local-first speed
Work offline when you need focus; sync auth and credits when you are back online.
Forge Desktop

AI agent

Plan → apply → review in one thread.

AI builder

Your co-builder, not just autocomplete

Forge Desktop connects to the same generation APIs as the web — tuned for multi-file edits, refactors, and feature-sized tasks.

  • Multi-file edits with project context
  • Iterative refine loops without losing history
  • Credits metered through your Forge account
Guided builder

From zero to runnable in guided steps

Pick a stack, scaffold folders, and wire auth or data with checklists that keep you moving.

Forge Desktop

Guided setup

Checklists for auth, data, and deploy.

Live preview

Preview like production, iterate like a sketch

Split view keeps code and preview side by side — resize, refresh, and share snapshots when ready.

Forge Desktop

Live preview

Instant reload as you edit.

Forge Desktop

Version history

Commits, branches, and tags.

Git & versioning

Version control built into the flow

Stage, commit, and inspect diffs without switching tools. Link releases to GitHub from the download hub.

FAQ

Common questions

Quick answers about downloads, accounts, and beta expectations.

How do I install Forge Desktop?

Click Download for Windows on this page. We serve the latest installer directly — no need to hunt assets on GitHub.

Is Forge Desktop free?

The app is free to install during beta. AI features consume Forge credits; see Pricing for plan limits and packs.

Do I need a Forge account?

Yes. Sign in with the same account as the website to sync credits, billing, and project settings.

Why is there a Beta badge?

Desktop is actively evolving. Expect frequent updates, occasional rough edges, and release notes for each build.

Where are release notes?

Use the Release notes button next to the download — it opens the changelog for the current version.

Does it work on Mac or Linux?

Not yet. This beta is Windows-only; other platforms are on the roadmap.
