Common questions
Quick answers about downloads, accounts, and beta expectations.
How do I install Forge Desktop?
Click Download for Windows on this page. We serve the latest installer directly — no need to hunt assets on GitHub.
Is Forge Desktop free?
The app is free to install during beta. AI features consume Forge credits; see Pricing for plan limits and packs.
Do I need a Forge account?
Yes. Sign in with the same account as the website to sync credits, billing, and project settings.
Why is there a Beta badge?
Desktop is actively evolving. Expect frequent updates, occasional rough edges, and release notes for each build.
Where are release notes?
Use the Release notes button next to the download — it opens the changelog for the current version.
Does it work on Mac or Linux?
Not yet. This beta is Windows-only; other platforms are on the roadmap.
How do credits sync?
Desktop reads your balance from Forge when you sign in. Purchases and subscriptions on the web apply on next sync.
How do I report bugs?
Use in-app feedback or contact us via the website Contact page. Include your app version from the title bar or About screen.
